Our Purpose
Since its inception, the Friends of the Almaden Library (FAL) has proudly served the needs of our community library by raising and managing funds to support programming and purchases of books, media and technology tools for the Almaden Branch Library, not covered by City funding.
We invite you to become a member today and join us in supporting our library.
At present, we focus our fundraising through donations, on two annual book sales and through our lobby sales area and we have a dedicated team of volunteers who sort donated books and materials. As we look ahead, the possibilities are wide open to increase opportunities and we are limited only by a volunteer staff eager to help.
Membership in FAL is free, and ensures you receive regular newsletters and information regarding volunteer opportunities and how money raised is benefiting our library community. However, as a 501(c)3 organization, we will always welcome a financial donation that is likely to be tax deductible.
Please consider taking an active role in supporting our library by sharing your time, talent and treasure. With your help we can continue and expand ways to enrich the library and local community it serves.
Our MissionOur mission shall be to maintain an association of persons committed to the support of the Almaden Library (the "Library"); to organize and implement fundraising activities for the express purpose of providing financial support to the Library; to advocate for and focus public attention on public library services, facilities, needs, and to encourage donors to support these programs.

Our Spring Book Sale is coming up on April 18, 2026.
Want your next great book now? Our Lobby Books are always available for purchase. Please recycle your gently used books. Donation bins are currently open.
